Who We Are:
  The Law Office of David Goren, LLC consists of three attorneys, four paralegals, two secretaries/ receptionists, and an office manager:

 Attorneys
 
David Goren is the senior attorney in the Office. He received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland Law School in 1973 and a Master’s Degree in Teaching Clinical Legal Education from the Antioch School of Law in 1978. He has taught Immigration and Nationality Law at several area law schools and has given numerous community presentations on the rights of aliens in the United States.

Mr. Goren has represented aliens and U.S. citizens in all areas of Immigration and Nationality Law in private practice since 1978. He has represented aliens before the Immigration and Nationality Service and the Immigration Courts in Washington, D.C.; Arlington, Virginia; Baltimore, Maryland; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; New York, New York; Boston, Massachusetts; Buffalo, New York; Detroit, Michigan; Chicago, Illinois; Seattle, Washington; Oakdale, Louisiana; and Harlingen and Houston, Texas. He has corresponded extensively with U.S. Consulates around the world.

Mr. Goren has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association for more than 25 years.

Gena’ve Ramirez is an Associate Attorney and a Cum Laude graduate of the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law. During her law school tenure, she benefited from the invaluable experiences of serving D.C. residents through HIV/AIDS and Community Development legal clinics, assisting asylum-seekers prepare their petitions with the Center for Immigration Law and Practice, and advocating for the humane and dignified treatment of refugees and migrants through Amnesty International USA.

Prior to joining our firm, Gena’ve also worked on a Maryland U.S. Senate race and served as a Legislative Analyst for the Texas House of Representatives. She was born in South Texas and has lived in England and Costa Rica. Gena’ve is a member in good standing of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Gaddiel K. Baah attended the University of Maryland School of Law. He has been admitted to State practice in D.C., as well as State and Federal practice in Maryland and to Federal immigration practice throughout the United States. He gained invaluable experience as a student attorney at the University of Maryland Immigration Law Clinic where he represented clients in a wide variety of cases in Maryland and Pennsylvania. He also represented the University of Maryland as a member of the International Moot Court team and placed second in a moot court competition involving more than twenty law schools from across the country. In addition, he was an editor of the University of Maryland Journal of Business and Technology Law.

Mr. Baah has extensive international non-profit experience spanning more than 10 years in media, human rights and youth development. He is also a professional translator and interpreter and is fluent in French and Akan, and has a strong working knowledge of Spanish. He is originally from Ghana.

Paralegals:
  Walter Ortega, originally from Peru, has over 18 years of experience as an immigration paralegal. He is fluent in Spanish and English.   Mahad Aden, originally from Somalia, has more than 15 years of experience as an immigration paralegal. He speaks Somali as well as English.   Kellie MacDonald, has been an immigration paralegal since July 2008. She graduated from Tufts University in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Spanish. During her time at Tufts, Kellie spent two semesters studying abroad in Alcala de Henares, Spain and Buenos Aires, Argentina. She speaks Spanish as well as English. She is originally from Portland, Maine.  

Secretaries / Receptionists:
Helena Ammar, originally from El Salvador, is responsible for administrative organization and billing. She is fluent in Spanish and English.   Ana De Leon, whose background is Salvadorian and Guatemalan, is responsible for appointment scheduling, receipts, and mail. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
